Unfortunately, not timely for me, having discovered it AFTER purchasing some English cider (Thatchers Green Goblin) at a local store instead of before. The ingredients label says '100% fermented apple cider'. I now realize that means nothing.

Here in Seattle we have a growing cider industry. The term 'craft cider' is often misused by both new and established producers and it needs finer definition. Also, 'Perry' is not always what it seems. Case in point, Ace Perry Hard Cider by its name means it is perry, but nowhere in the list of ingredients is there mention of perry or even just pears. There is mention of 'natural favors' toward the end of the list. So, I guess it's cider that's perry flavored. I do wish the producers would stop trying to deceive the consumers.Looneyfruithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08584266075978192424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7241461776553296260.post-70577215641105566112014-02-04T17:08:58.987+00:002014-02-04T17:08:58.987+00:00Another reference to your list, in ASTURIAS(Spain)...Another reference to your list, in ASTURIAS(Spain) We have a production of naturalcider obtained by the alcoholic fermentation of pure 100 % apple juice.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08855153465809268924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7241461776553296260.post-24172457243103692492014-01-24T14:42:35.171+00:002014-01-24T14:42:35.171+00:00Wonkish maybe. It's very positive that you see the way forward as disclosure rather than more stringent legislation and, as you say, some low-juice ciders can be very enjoyable, if not gourmet products, and high-juice is no guarantee of quality.

Surely if the only thing you add to full-juice cider is water to reduce or standardise the alcoholic strength it still qualifies as full-juice. There are plenty of ciders at 6% ABV or less that state they are full-juice.Curmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02558747878308766840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7241461776553296260.post-76365511298907055462013-12-15T16:00:26.897+00:002013-12-15T16:00:26.897+00:00A beautiful human who touched the lives of so many...A beautiful human who touched the lives of so many.
